My mom has recently been losing weight. Although she's been trying for some years now, she finally started working out regularly. But before then, she would count calories, but still wouldn't lose any weight! I wondered and wondered how keeping her amount of calories in check wasn't enough to help her shed a few pounds, but then I realized as long as she continues to eat in large portions and not work out, she was going to gain weight or at least keep the same weight.
So COUNTING CALORIES ALONE does not GUARANTEE weight loss. That, along with proper eating habits, and daily exercise will definitely lower the number on your scale...
