It's All About Color!
So not much new this week... not much variety. Oh speaking of variety, apparently there is a LOT of variety in fruits and veggies compared to the organic stuff you get in chain supermarkets. Everyone can buy yellow sweetcorn ears, but how often do you see blue corn? Cherry tomatoes are common, but what about heirloom tomatoes? These differences in produce offer a more colorful dinner plate and a more natural existence; These foods only grow in a certain season, and buying them only a certain time each year keeps you in sync with the flow of seasons. The local varieties are also supposed to be healthier or more beneficial in vitamins and minerals, but I can't find any solid statistics, just a lot of people saying, "Local food tastes better!" So there is pretty much a chance for a new experience and a more colorful meal, but that's all I can find on it... And if you're reading this Mr. Dickson, Google Alerts suck mud.
