Fruit Salad! Yummy, Yummy?!
For the month of October, my church is fasting and that means that there are a lot of food items that my family and I are giving up. No meat, no cheese, no sweets, just to name a few. It seems rather hard, giving up the foods that your body is used to and loves for a whole month, but it is possible. The great thing about this is that it challenges my family to eat lighter, healthier, and be a little bit more creative with our cooking. Our first healthy meal consisted of nothing but fruit that was purchased at our local farmer's market. Watermelon, grapes, apples, bananas, and an ice cold glass of water was what our Sunday dinner plate consisted of. Who said eating healthy couldn't be colorful yet tasty?
