To help hungry people, North Carolina is teaming up for a “Hungry to Help” initiative. Alamance Country 4-H members are asking public to collect foods during the month of September to donate food pantries in Alabama County. They will collect from Saturday, Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Cooperative Extension office, which is in Graham-Hopedale Road, Burlington.
Also as I wrote before, many kids from this the U.S. are starving. According to statistics from Feeding America, North Carolina ranks as the second-worst state for lacking access to nutritious food to the children under five, and ranks as 10th-worst for children of all ages. It is always so amazing to find these kinds of data about the U.S., which is considered the wealthiest and strongest country in the whole world.
