Well, the Associated Press may think so.
AP proposed the question, "Could your kitchen pass a restaurant inspection?"Good question and my answer is definitely not, so maybe they have something here. In California they found 61% of homes would pass with an A or B, while 14% would just flunk it all together. Many beg to differ with these statistics, because they were not actual home inspections, it was an Internet quiz? Talk about some research huh?
Most likely that 61% would drop severely if it was an actual kitchen inspection. Many food illnesses occur at home. So maybe our kitchens aren't as clean as they need to be. But that's no excuse to eat a fast food restaurant every night. Kitchen cleanliness can be improved with a little Clorox and Pine Sol. No matter what kind of studies they come up with that deal with kitchen cleanliness, eating at home is still healthier. And food poison isn't impossible at a fast food restaurant either. No matter how they put it, eating at home will overall benefit your health.
P.S. Next week watch out for my "Dangers of the Golden Corral," which features my parents' lunch there every Thursday. Nothing says high blood pressure better than an all-you-can-eat buffet ever week. Haha ^_^
