Never too Young

I have a really good friend, whose name she doesn't want told, but she does want people to know what she deals with every day.

My friend has Type 1 diabetes and she often finds herself testing her blood/glucose level as many as 10 times. She carries an insulin pump everywhere she goes and occasionally needs an injection if her blood/glucose level is to low.

She also told me that before she was diagnosed, she had many symptoms. She lost weight, she was thirsty alot (due to loss of fluids), she felt lethargic, and she developeed a pale complexion.

She was diagnosed when she was fifteen.

So, today I learned an extremely valuable lesson. I learned that you're never to young to start living a healthier life. My friend had to learn that the hard way, and i don't want to be next.

Do you?
